National Caregivers Day
Honoring Caregivers on National Caregivers Day
National Caregivers Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the dedication, compassion, and strength of those who provide care to their loved ones. At Senior Connection and the Central Coast Commission, we understand that caregiving can be both rewarding and challenging—you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Our team is here to provide resources, guidance, and support tailored to your needs. We can help with access to meals through our Senior Nutrition Program, provide Medicare guidance through our HICAP program, and connect you with other community services through Senior Connection. Our goal is to help you feel supported and empowered every step of the way.
Thank you for all that you do—you make a difference every day.

Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CCCSC Remains Committed to Continued Services to Seniors
Santa Maria, CA — February 18, 2026 — Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens (CCCSC), in cooperation with the California Department of Aging (CDA), continues to and is committed to provide uninterrupted services to seniors in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties with the support of CDA. Accordingly, CCCSC has voluntarily requested withdrawal of its designation as the Area Agency on Aging. This type of transition is not uncommon and has occurred in other counties, including Ventura County, as part of normal administrative and regulatory evolution.
During this transition period, the CDA and CCCSC are working productively and collaboratively to ensure that services for older adults across the Central Coast continue without interruption. Protecting seniors and maintaining service stability remains the shared priority.
We remain committed to ensuring that older adults, caregivers, and families experience no disruption in support during this administrative transition.
The Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens-Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is a non-profit organization responsible for allocating federal and state dollars to local agencies to insure that supportive, nutrition and health promotion services to older adults in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties are available.
