The success of Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens is dependent on the efforts of volunteers help create “senior friendly” communities. The following are open volunteer opportunities:
Senior Connection – Volunteers are needed for various roles support the information and referral program. The following opportunities are available:
- Information and referral volunteers help seniors find information and local resources to meet their needs. Volunteers learn about and share information with other seniors on a wide range of issues: long term care options, transportation, legal, and more.
- Resource volunteers help maintain accurate and organized resource databases. Working with the program manager they verify listing, update and add information about senior resources.
- Program Advisory Council Members help to provide input to improve and expand the program. PAC members help with outreach, strategic planing and quality assurance.
Advisory Council Member– Volunteers are needed to represent local seniors on policy matters at all level of government. Council members attend monthly meetings and participate in committees that make recommendations on policy matters.
HICAP Medicare Counselor– Volunteers are needed to help Medicare beneficiaries understand their benefits and their options. Every month there are 700 new Medicare beneficiaries on the Central Coast and many of these new beneficiaries will need help.
Office Assistance– Volunteers are needed to help with clerical task at our main office.
