New to Medicare or looking outside of the Annual Open Enrollment period?

If you are new to Medicare, qualify for a special enrollment period or are looking for a Part D plan outside of the Annual Open Enrollment Period, your request will be processed and mailed to you with in three business days.

Looking for a new Part D Plan during open enrollment?

The Annual Open Enrollment period between Oct.15 – Dec.7, is the time for you to make changes to your Part D & Advantage plans.

We begin searching the new plans on October 15 when Medicare has finalized the details and changes to the Medicare system.

Searches are completed in the order they are received with an anticipated turn-around time of 10 days or less. Last year we completed over 600 searches.

Open enrollment closes on December 7 and we make every attempt to be prompt and allow time for you to review the search results, ask questions and enroll in the plan of your choice.

Information provided by HICAP from the Medicare website is approximate. Please confirm costs when you contact the Plan to enroll. Part D premiums are adjusted/increased for Medicare beneficiaries with incomes exceeding $91,000 annually for individuals, and $182,000 annually for couples. This adjustment is not included in the information provided by HICAP in this worksheet.

Planning For Next Year

Medicare Part D Plan details change annually such as premium costs and coverage details. Their formularies of medications approved in a plan also can vary from year to year which is why HICAP recommends reviewing your plan annually between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7. The plan you choose goes into effect Jan.1 and you are contracted with that plan until the end of the next year.
