Getting Involved

Creating “Senior Friendly” communities takes the people willing to serve. The success of Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens is dependent on people volunteering for the organization and the programs it supports. The following are open volunteer opportunities:

Senior Connection Information Line- Volunteers are needed to help seniors find information and local resources to meet their needs. Seniors looking for services need help finding accurate, reliable information. Volunteers learn about and share information with other seniors on a wide range of issues: long term care options, transportation, legal, and more.

Advisory Council Member- Volunteers are needed to represent local seniors on policy matters at all level of government.  Council members attend monthly meetings and participate in committees that make recommedations on policy matters.

HICAP Medicare Counselor- Volunteers are needed to help Medicare beneficiaries understand their benefits and their options. Every month there are 700 new Meidcare beneficiaries on the Central Coast and many of these new beneficiaries will need help.

Senior Information Outreach Worker- Volunteers are needed to attend community events (health fairs, senior conferences, etc.) and help raise awareness about programs for the elderly.

CarFit Volunteer- Volnteers for Car Fit  help seniors learn to check how to find their “fit” in their personal vehicles. 

Office Assistance- Volunteers are needed to help with clerical task at our main office.
